Filtering is the most repeated action in any analytics workflow. This month, we made it dramatically faster and more reliable \u2014 with autocomplete-powered filters, more transparent period comparisons, and cleaner multi-media chart labels. These are the kinds of improvements that compound: small friction removed at the point of highest frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until now, filtering meant typing exact values from memory. If you were looking for a specific URL, a UTM campaign name, or a particular content category, you had to know the precise string \u2014 or use the quick filters in existing reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Filters now support real-time autocomplete. Start typing and Alke suggests matching values, each displayed with its occurrence count over the selected period. You immediately see not just what exists in your data, but how significant each value is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For publishers dealing with hundreds of URLs, dozens of UTM parameters, or growing event taxonomies, this changes the daily workflow to give them a quicker access to what’s important now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comparing time periods is one of the most common analytical reflexes. “How does today compare to yesterday?” shouldn’t require second-guessing whether the comparison is actually fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We fixed an issue in real-time mode where the 30-minute comparison window was misaligned. Previously, the current timeslot was compared against the end of the previous day rather than the equivalent timeslot. The comparison now works as you’d expect: 14:00\u201314:30 today vs. 14:00\u201314:30 yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond the fix, we’ve added two improvements that make comparisons more transparent. First, every metric card now displays a text label under its variation badge, telling you exactly what period is being compared: “previous 7 days”, “yesterday, same hours”, “1 \u2013 15 Mar”, and so on. No more wondering what the percentage change actually refers to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Second, hovering over any value or comparison badge now reveals the exact, unrounded figure. Durations show full precision (“2h 34min 12s” instead of “2h 34min”), counters display their complete value (“1,234,567” instead of “1.2M”), and percentage metrics are clearly suffixed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These changes share a common goal: when you look at a comparison, you should never have to wonder what you’re actually comparing, or whether the numbers are approximate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Alke Analytics evolves into a multi-media platform \u2014 text, video, audio \u2014 the charts need to speak the language of content, not the language of internal identifiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chart legends previously displayed technical labels: “pageview”, “videoplay”, “audioplay”. They now show clear, readable names: Text, Video, Audio. When viewing all media types together, the legend combines the selected metric with the content type \u2014 “Users (Text)”, “Sessions (Video)” \u2014 and updates dynamically as you switch metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s a small change with an outsized impact on readability. Anyone on your team \u2014 editorial, marketing, management \u2014 can glance at a chart and immediately understand what they’re looking at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
