Privacy Policy for Alke Analytics

Introduction

This policy explains how Alke Analytics, the audience and ad revenue analytics platform operated by Alke Tech, processes personal data when you visit a website, or use a mobile or connected TV app, whose publisher uses our service.

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.

Who is responsible for your data

The publisher of the website or app you are using decides to use Alke Analytics and is the controller of this processing. Alke Tech acts as its processor and processes data only on the publisher's instructions. For questions about how a specific publisher uses your data, please refer to that publisher's privacy policy.

Two measurement modes

Publishers can use Alke Analytics in two modes.

Consent-exempt measurement. Where the publisher has configured it, audience is measured without requiring your consent, under the conditions set by the French data protection authority (CNIL). In this mode, data is only used to produce anonymous, aggregated statistics for the publisher. What can be measured without consent is explained in more detail in our guide.

Consent-based measurement. Additional processing, such as campaign attribution and advertising measurement, only takes place if you consent through the publisher's consent banner. Alke Tech is registered with IAB Europe as TCF vendor 1506 and reads your choices through the Transparency and Consent Framework.

Data we process

  • Navigation data: pages viewed, interactions with the page, traffic source categories.
  • Engagement data: load times, scroll depth and active reading time.
  • Technical data: major browser and operating system versions, device type, screen size, browser language.
  • Approximate location: derived from a pseudonymized IP address; the full IP address is not stored.
  • Advertising data (consent-based mode only): ad impressions, viewability and revenue attributed to the page you viewed, used to measure the revenue generated by content. This data is not used to target advertising.

The same measurement applies to websites and to mobile and connected TV apps.

Cookies and similar technologies

On websites, Alke Analytics uses a first-party cookie set on the publisher's domain, with a maximum lifetime of 13 months. In apps, our SDKs use an equivalent identifier stored locally, with the same limits. You can change your consent choices at any time through the settings provided by the publisher.

Purposes

  • Producing audience statistics for the publisher.
  • Measuring content and campaign performance (consent-based mode).
  • Measuring advertising performance and revenue (consent-based mode).
  • Securing the service and preventing fraud.

Opting out

You can object to consent-exempt measurement at any time through the opt-out link provided by the publisher on its website or app. Your choice is stored in a cookie for 13 months. Once you opt out, no further measurement data is collected about your visits in this mode. If you delete your cookies, you will need to opt out again.

Data retention

Measurement data is retained for a maximum of 25 months, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

Data sharing and hosting

Statistics are made available only to the publisher using Alke Analytics. Alke Tech does not sell your data and does not reuse it for its own purposes. All data is hosted and processed exclusively within the European Union, by hosting providers listed on our sub-processors page. Our privacy-first approach to measurement is described on our website.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. As the publisher is the controller, you can exercise these rights with the publisher directly, or contact us and we will forward your request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, such as the CNIL in France or the authority of your country of residence.

Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or destruction.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes are published on this page with a revised update date.
